  1. Very interesting, though I am kind of confused on Esther living almost a century after Daniel.

  2. I did purchase the Bible Timeline material and I was amazed with all the information that I was not aware of, so I have a question.
With all the difference calendars from the Gregorian, Mayan Chinese and Julian Calendars etc and the different terms like AD, BC, etc. there is no way we are in the year of 2017 today so what year are we actually in now?
    Thanks Rich

    1. Obtain the Annuals of the World-Writings of Bishop James Ussher. His timelines are very accurate.

      1. Rick, that’s part of what this timeline is based on. Please see https://amazingbibletimeline.com/about-bible-charts-and-maps/.

  3. I’m still waiting for mine to come in the mail but I have read some of the pdf version. Whenever I read the genealogies in Genesis my mind would just focus on how long people lived and I never thought about them living at the same time. I learned that just recently about the prophets also. This is such a great tool that has encouraged me to do more study of God’s word and to slow down and slowly digest it when I read it. Thank you so much!

    1. From Adam to Noah they all lived 900+ years. (see note below). The only exception to that was Enoch who lived 430 years and “walked with God” (not died). Something happened at the time of the flood with Noah living another 350 years for a total of 950, but his son only 600, his grandson only 438, then 2 more at 400+, then a few at 200+, and then a few more at 100+ A very drastic change.
Read “The Biblical Flood and the Ice Epic” by Donald Wesley Patton for an interesting scientific theory of what might have happened.
Note: God said “in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die”. A non-biblical reference puts a day to God is like 1000 years to man.

      1. I’ve come up w/ some of the same ideas that Pangea could still be Biblical as the primary landmass originally.
I think the splitting of Pangea could be from volcanic activity – after all, Sodom & Gomorrah were probably destroyed by an eruption much the same way Pompeii was destroyed.
Whether the continents separated during the Flood or afterwards, I’m still trying to figure out.
Perhaps, Earth began as a rock of ice & God placed us on the celestial orbit around Sol. Global volcanic activity could have melted larger ice deposits to cause the Flood, then fill back into the voids created when the landmasses split apart.

It’s awesome that God has protected us since Creation seemed to be a dangerous time frame. We know the dinosaurs didn’t survive the Flood – perhaps another punishment of reptiles for the serpeant’s act in the Garden.

        1. The city of Sodom has been officially found and recognized by both Christian and secular scholars. They current (and well-supported) theory is that the city and surrounding area was wiped out by a meteor air burst. One secular article stated that it created “an intensely hot and powerful shock wave. The shock wave wiped out all settlements in the area and destroyed an area of 500 sq. km. And the area remained uninhabited for a remarkable 700 years after the event.”

The airburst had a yield equivalent to a 10 megaton nuclear warhead and occurred about 1 km above the northeast corner of the Dead Sea.

“Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.” – Genesis 19:24-25

It’s SHOCKINGLY amazing how accurate the Bible’s description of the event matches with what scientists now know.

      2. 2 Peter 3:8 says, “However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with God as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.”

        1. That is why when God told Adam in the Garden of Eden that “in that day you will surely die” He wasn’t just saying that. Adam died within that “day” (1000 years as we measure it).

          1. God never told Adam he would immediately drop dead upon eating the forbidden fruit. Prior to eating the forbidden fruit, there was no reason for Adam or Eve to ever die. Once they ate the forbidden fruit, they were from that day destined to die.

  4. Dear friends, i am really happy to see your website. a peculiar and an interesting one which help to study the time line with Bible and the world history.
I have a question which really staggers many “christians”. In genesis chapter 1, God creates Light in the first day while it is recorded that He created the sun, moon and the stars in the fourth day. 🙂
then what was that God really created in the first day of creation???? 🙂

    1. I have heard from those that can read the original Hebrew, that God “invited” Light into the first day. That’s a paraphrase. This is Jesus, the Light, and through whom all was created. This subtlety is lost in the english translations. When reflecting on that, it occurred to me that Jesus will also be the light in Heaven, as we will need no other light. And God dwells in eternal light. I don’t have references at my fingertips, but if you Google it, I’m sure you can find them easily. Hope that is helpful. 🙂

      1. Hello peace and love to you
        Very good answer, Ruth
This is why we should always share our thoughts,

    2. Hello peace and love to you,
Maybe God created light in the first day in a complete blanket form
Then on the fourth day concentrated the light into
What we now know as the sun,
      Just a thought,

    3. The Sun is only one source of light among billions of stars in the Universe. It was created to support the life that would follow in the rest of God’s creation on Earth.

    4. There is a big difference from verse 1 and 2 of Chapter1. God didn’t make it waste or empty. Some great disaster happened which wrought havoc ( death of Dinosaurs etc?) The light of verse 3 is from God Himself. God IS Light. ( No variation or shadow of turning) we know grass etc cat grow without Light as He produced on 3 day. In Type, Christ ( the Sun) came in in the 4000 year ( 1000 years as a day) and introduced the Church ( small light) AWESOME subject! Keep reading, praying, and BELIEVE!

    5. I recommend Henry Morris’ Study Bible. He did a great job explaining the science behind creation.
The light before the sun is more of an electromagnetic light, infrared light, etc. When God spoke, physics happened!

    6. The creation is such a vast subject and so mind-boggling to everyone that most people don’t consider or understand it at all, and make many (mostly invalid) assumptions to narrow it down. This post would be too lengthy to go into them, but maybe a couple. First of all “In the beginning…” What beginning? Of everything? It doesn’t say that. Could it be the beginning of things as it pertains to us? It is ludicrous to assume that nothing existed prior. That goes back to goes back to thinking that the universe revolves around our earth because that is our perspective, or the earth is flat. It also puts limitations on God. What did He do before us? He didn’t create?
“God created the heaven and the earth” Most people assume that means “poof” (magic) and it was done. The Hebrew says “bârâ” which does not mean create out of nothing, but formed or organized out of existing material.
God said “Let there be light” on the first day (certainly not our present measurement for day). And what says this was the very first time He said it? He probably has said it an infinite number of times before. The sun (assumption for “grater light”) was made on the forth. So what is this “light”? There are countless other sources of light other than the sun. There are also other “greater lights” than our sun, being rather small in comparison (but not to us)..Perspective is everything.
      There are many, many more.

    7. It’s Shekinah, the glory of the divine presence, conventionally represented as a brilliant light. In Revelation 21:23 “The city does not need the sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives its light, and the Lamb it’s lamp.” Also, each time an angel appeared from heaven to give a message or when Jesus transfigured, there was a brilliant light that accompanied them. This is why they always said “Do not be afraid” The light was so bright and with the holy presence, it was frightening. God’s glory cannot be looked upon directly by human eyes. Ex. 33:17-33 Moses was only allowed to see His back, God put Moses in a cleft of two rocks. There are other scripture that speak of God’s glory, Shekinah.

    8. A day is measured by one rotation of the earth.
      God is light.
In the new Jerusalem God is revealed as the light, as He is elsewhere in Scripture so I don’t see why there should be a problem.

  5. Many thanks for the digital chart. It’s fascinating cross-linking the Bible, world cultures and the same God is Love message throughout. It deserves enjoyable study especially through God’s Word!

Can’t wait to see the wall-chart in hard copy.

  6. I really have just started studying the Bible. As a teacher of science for over 30 years and going to church on and off again for as many years, the Time Line is amazing as how it reveals the truth and how science has distorted or invented a version of events. The TimeLine coupled with the book “How Now Shall We Live” has changed my belief and I wish I had been exposed to this information previous to my becoming a teacher.
I am sorry to say unknowingly I taught misinformation to many students.

  7. I really enjoy this site. I learn so much. Thank you for all the valuable knowledge and insight into the WORD of God. May the peace of God, the Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ be with you all.

  8. Peter never was in Rome!

  9. You say, “Noah’s son Shem was still alive when Abraham was born =Abraham could have learned the history of the world from Shem. Who learned about Adam on down from his grandfather and then passed it to his great-great-great (8 greats) grandson Abraham.”

It looks to me that Shem was still alive when Abraham’s grandson, Jacob (Israel) was born. Also, why do you say he was Abraham’s 8x great grandfather? I count 7: father – Terah, grandfather – Nahor, great grandfather – Serug, 2x – Reu, 3x – Peleg, 4x – Eber, 5x – Salah, 6x – Arphaxad, and 7x – Shem. Who did I miss?
